API Intermediates

Key starting materials for bulk-drug synthesis

API intermediates are the building blocks that API manufacturers turn into finished active ingredients. Consistent assay, a clean impurity profile and dependable batch-to-batch quality matter more here than anywhere else, because every later step inherits what the starting material brings in.

We supply 4-Aminophenol, Salicylic Acid, Guaiacol and 2,6-Dichloroaniline to API plants across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, with COA and SDS shared before dispatch and impurity data on request.

Fine Chemicals

Specialty building blocks for synthesis

Fine chemicals are lower-volume, higher-specification molecules used where a specific reaction needs a specific reagent or aromatic building block – oxime and hydroxamic-acid chemistry, heterocycle formation, dyes and hair colour.

Hydroxylamine Sulfate and 2-Amino-4-Nitrophenol are supplied in technical and high-purity grades, from trial lots for route development to regular commercial quantities.

Chlorinating, Acylating & Alkylating Reagents

Reactive reagents, shipped as regulated dangerous goods

Thionyl Chloride, Chloroacetyl Chloride and Ethyl Chloroformate are workhorse reagents for activating acids and building acid chlorides, amides and carbamates, while Dimethyl Sulfate and Diethyl Sulfate add methyl and ethyl groups in API and agrochemical routes.

All five are toxic or corrosive, and the three acid chlorides are also water-reactive. They are packed in compatible drums, labelled to GHS and moved under the applicable dangerous-goods rules – with SDS, UN number and emergency information on every consignment.

Pharmaceutical Excipients

The inactive ingredients that make a dosage form work

Excipients turn an API into a tablet, capsule, softgel or liquid that can be manufactured, packed and taken reliably. Diluents give bulk, binders hold granules together, disintegrants break the tablet apart in the body, lubricants keep the press running, and coating polymers protect and control release.

Our eleven core excipients are offered in IP, BP, USP and EP grades where monographs exist, for formulation plants in Baddi, Sikkim, Goa, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and across India.

From reagent to remedy

Where each product fits in the making of a medicine

Follow a dose from the first reaction to the finished tablet. Every stage lists the products from this catalogue that buyers use there – tap any of them for its specification page.

  1. Activate

    Reagents open the route

Most API routes begin by making a molecule reactive – turning acids into acid chlorides, building amides, carbamates and esters, or adding methyl and ethyl groups. These reagents do that work and are consumed in the reaction.

  2. Build

    Intermediates carry the core

Key starting materials and fine chemicals bring the backbone of the final drug into the process. Their purity and impurity profile set the quality ceiling for everything downstream.

  3. Synthesise

    Your plant makes the API

Our customers convert these materials into active pharmaceutical ingredients. A few of the routes our intermediates feed:

  4. Formulate

    Excipients make it a medicine

Diluents, binders, disintegrants, lubricants, coating polymers and capsule shells turn an API into a tablet, capsule, softgel or liquid that runs on a machine and works in the body.

  5. Fortify

    Vitamins complete the shelf

Vitamins go into multivitamins and gummies, fortified foods, animal-feed premixes and skin-care serums – each in the grade that market requires.

Asked at our sales desk

Questions buyers ask about this catalogue

Real questions from purchase, QA and R&D teams – answered the way our centralized sales desk answers them.

Ask your own question

BuyerWhat is the difference between an API intermediate and a reagent?

Chelora sales deskAn intermediate becomes part of the final molecule – 4-Aminophenol, for example, ends up inside every Paracetamol tablet. A reagent such as Thionyl Chloride drives a reaction step but is consumed or removed, so it does not appear in the finished API. That is why intermediates are usually bought against tighter impurity limits, while reagents are bought on assay and handling requirements.

BuyerWhich reagents on this page ship as dangerous goods?

Chelora sales deskThionyl Chloride (UN 1836, Class 8), Chloroacetyl Chloride (UN 1752, Class 6.1) and Ethyl Chloroformate (UN 1182, Class 6.1) are water-reactive, and Dimethyl Sulfate (UN 1595, Class 6.1) and Diethyl Sulfate (UN 1594, Class 6.1) are toxic liquids. All five move as dangerous goods – in compatible drums, GHS-labelled, with SDS and emergency information. Thionyl Chloride is also a CWC Schedule 3 chemical, so an end-use declaration may be requested.

BuyerWhy do Gelatin and Magnesium Stearate need a TSE/BSE statement?

Chelora sales deskBoth can be animal-derived – gelatin from bovine or porcine collagen, and stearates historically from tallow – so regulators ask for a TSE/BSE risk statement. We can share the statement on request, and offer vegetable-source Magnesium Stearate where you need it.

BuyerWhich products here are hygroscopic and need careful storage?

Chelora sales deskPovidone (PVP K30) and Calcium Pantothenate pick up moisture readily, and Croscarmellose Sodium and Sodium Starch Glycolate should be kept dry to protect their disintegrant performance. Store them tightly closed in a cool, dry place and reseal part-used bags. Mannitol, by contrast, is valued precisely because it is non-hygroscopic.

BuyerIs Vitamin E Acetate available as a powder for tablets?

Chelora sales deskYes. Alongside the oil grade used in softgels and cosmetics, a 50% powder grade is available on request for tablets, premixes and dry blends.

BuyerWhich products are suitable for cosmetics and personal care?

Chelora sales deskNiacinamide, Salicylic Acid and Vitamin E Acetate are the main skin-care actives in this catalogue, and 2-Phenoxyethanol is a widely used preservative. PEG grades serve as bases and humectants, and Magnesium Stearate is used in pressed powders. Ask for cosmetic-grade documentation when you enquire.

BuyerHow do I compare two products on this page?

Chelora sales deskTap the compare icon on up to three product cards, then open the compare bar at the bottom of the screen to see CAS number, formula, appearance, grades, packing and storage side by side.

BuyerAre the specifications shown here final?

Chelora sales deskThey are typical values for guidance. The binding specification is the Certificate of Analysis of the batch supplied, and custom specifications can be agreed before the order is confirmed.
