Product Overview
What Is Hydroxylamine Sulfate (CAS 10039-54-0)?
Hydroxylamine sulfate (hydroxylammonium sulphate, HAS, bis(hydroxylammonium) sulphate; CAS 10039-54-0) is the sulphate salt of hydroxylamine, (NH3OH)2SO4. It is a white, slightly hygroscopic, odourless crystalline powder that dissolves freely in water to give an acidic solution. Free hydroxylamine is unstable, so this salt is the practical way to store, ship and dose it: each kilogram carries about 0.40 kg of hydroxylamine, released in the reactor when a base is added, which is why chemists often call it a hydroxylamine source rather than a reagent in its own right.
Its main job is turning aldehydes and ketones into oximes, esters into hydroxamic acids and nitriles into amidoximes, so it appears early in many API and agrochemical routes, including isoxazole rings and oxime-carbamate insecticides. On a much larger scale, cyclohexanone oxime made with hydroxylamine sulphate is the step before caprolactam and nylon 6. It is also a reducing agent and antioxidant in colour photographic developers, rubber and polymer production, metal surface treatment and analytical chemistry.
As a chemical supplier in Mumbai, Chelora Pharmachem supplies technical, laboratory and analytical-grade hydroxylamine sulfate to API, agrochemical, dye and specialty-chemical manufacturers across India, with a batch-wise COA, SDS/MSDS and specification, from trial lots to regular bulk supply. Because it is a Class 8 dangerous good, every dispatch moves with proper labelling and transport documents. For the chlorination and acylation steps that often run in the same plants, we also supply Thionyl Chloride.
